Conflict Theorist

        In a conflict theorists point of view, it would prove that money and social prestige do have power. For example, Regina George is good looking, has a lot of money, and is very popular in high school. By those qualities, Regina is put at the top of society's distribution.

       Though there is inequality of the high school, it is necessary that people are put into different levels to support the Social Darwinism idea. That is what makes this whole idea useful to society. There is a constant power struggle between people throughout the world, especially in high schools because if you want to be at the "top" you have to be good looking, have money, and have a lot of friends. Though Cady didn't have a ton of money, she was still considered a plastic because Regina, the "top" girl was her friend.

      As I said, the main function is to separate the better people from the worst, the rich from the poor, and the good looking from the ugly. I do think it is somewhat necessary because in the real world, it separates the hard workers from the slackers, which helps the better people get the jobs, and keep society on the same path.
